Three Induction Zones + Two Gas Burners

Unlike a conventional all-gas or all-induction hob, the AEG HDB95623NB combines both technologies.

On the left and centre are three induction cooking zones. The two right-hand cooking positions are gas burners, consisting of a powerful Ultra Rapid burner and a smaller Semi-Rapid burner.

Bridge Function for Larger Cookware

The two 180mm induction zones on the left can be connected using AEG's Bridge function, creating a larger unified cooking area.

Once linked, both zones share settings, making the Bridge area particularly useful for large roasting dishes, plancha plates, griddles and other oversized induction-compatible cookware.

This provides considerably greater flexibility than having three completely independent fixed induction zones.

Large 28cm Centre Induction Zone

At the centre of the hob is an especially versatile induction cooking area capable of accommodating cookware up to approximately 280mm.

AEG's technical documentation specifies the centre zone at 1,800W nominal output, rising to as much as 3,600W with PowerBoost, depending on cookware diameter.

This makes it particularly suitable for large frying pans, stockpots and other cookware requiring substantial heating power.

PowerBoost for Rapid Heating

PowerBoost temporarily increases induction power when maximum heat is required.

AEG states that PowerBoost can bring water to the boil in less than 90 seconds under its specified test conditions, providing a convenient way to rapidly heat water before reducing the zone to the required cooking setting.

The two 180mm induction zones provide up to 2.8kW each, while the larger centre zone can deliver up to 3.6kW.

Gas Cooking with Heavy-Duty Cast-Iron Supports

The gas section incorporates two cast-iron pan supports.

AEG equips the supports with silicone feet to improve stability and help prevent the supports from slipping or tipping during use.

The gas controls use traditional rotary knobs, providing straightforward flame adjustment, while the induction section uses electronic controls. This combination gives the hob a distinctive professional-style layout while retaining the convenience of modern induction technology.

Natural Gas with LPG Conversion Kit

For UK installations, the HDB95623NB is configured for G20 natural gas at 20mbar. AEG's UK specification also confirms that an LPG conversion kit with additional injectors is included, supporting G30/G31 at 28–30/37mbar where appropriate.

AEG specifies maximum gas power at approximately 4.5kW.

Any gas installation or conversion should be completed in accordance with AEG's installation instructions and applicable UK gas-safety requirements.

Stop & Go

The Stop & Go function is useful when cooking has to be interrupted.

Activating it reduces active induction zones to a low keep-warm setting, rather than requiring each zone to be individually switched off and subsequently reset.

Minute Minder

An integrated Minute Minder helps keep track of cooking times, providing an audible reminder when the selected period has elapsed.

Safety Features

The mixed-fuel design is supported by a comprehensive selection of safety functions.

AEG lists automatic switch-off, child lock and key lock, while the gas burners incorporate thermocouple flame-failure protection. If a gas flame is accidentally extinguished, the safety system is designed to stop the gas supply.

Residual heat indication is also provided for the induction section.
